1. Create a free Sitebay account

To create a Sitebay account you just need to register on sitebay.com. Enter a valid email address (1.), choose a password (2.) and click on Sign Up.

Don’t hesitate, it’s free.

Choose the web address (URL) of your website (1.)

As well as your design you have a large choice of templates. By dragging your cursor over the icon of a template, a bigger preview appears. (2.), You can also click on Preview (3.) to see the template on a full screen preview.

Click on Edit My Site (4.) and start creating your website right away.

2.1 Adding elements

Text paragraphs, photos, videos, maps ... are elements of your site.

You can add text, images and all types of content (videos, forms, flash animations, maps, PayPal ...).

To add an element to a page of your site, simply click on the corresponding button in the edit bar.

2.2 Working with elements

Once an element added, you can position it wherever you want on your page by simple « drag and drop ».

You can organize very freely the content of your website.

2.3 Deleting elements

To remove an element simply click on the element and then on the delete icon located in edit bar.

You will see a confirmation window. Simply click on ok to confirm.

2.4 Elements Properties

There are common properties to all elements (text paragraphs, images, videos ...).

All elements once added are editable.

To access the editing features of an element just double-click on the element or click on the pencil button located in the edit bar.

All elements are resizable.

To resize an element simply click on the element and reach its lower right corner to stretch it.

All elements once added are duplicable.

Simply click on an element and then click on the duplicate button located in the edit bar.

All elements once added are superimposable.

To put an element forward/backward just click on the up or down arrow button on the edit bar.

2.5 Working with the text editor

You can add text by clicking on the button to add text:

A text box is automatically inserted on your page. You can then modify the content according to your wishes.

Simple text editor

By clicking on the pencil button at the top left of a text element you access the simple text editor.

NOTE : You can also access it by double-clicking on the element.

You can change the color of the text align right, left, center or justify.

You can increase or reduce the size of your font.

You can make your text bold, italicized or underlined.

You can also add a link (see how to insert a link from text)

Advanced text editor

To access advanced text editing features, just click on the pencil icon located at the bottom right of the simple text editor.

The window of the advanced editor opens:

In addition to the features of the simple editor, advanced editor allows you to:

Change the font (1.) of your text
Add bullets and numbers (2.)
Create anchors (3.)
Insert images (4.)
Switch to full screen mode (5.) for easiest editing

2.6 Adding an image

To add an image simply click on the add picture button:

A new window opens:

It allows you to upload an image from your computer by clicking the in Browse button (1.).

You can also add an image directly from your gallery (2.) d’images uploadées en cliquant sur l’image désirée.

2.7 Creating links

To create a text link

To create a text link you just need to select the desired text zone and click on the link icon:

Then select the type of link you want to insert.

You can choose to add a link to:

• An anchor (1.) on a page of your site
• A website or web page (2.)
• One page of your site (3.)
• An uploaded file (4.) uploadé

And select if you want your link to open in the same window or in a new one (5.)

To create an image link

To create a link from an image, select the image and click on the link icon:

Then select the type of link you want to insert:

You can choose to add a link to:

• An anchor (1.) on a page of your site
• A website or web page (2.)
• One page of your site (3.)
• An uploaded file (4.) uploadé

And if you want your link to open in the same window or in a new one (5.)

2.8 Managing pages

To manage your pages just click on the Manage Pages button in the toolbar of the editor:

The Manage pages window opens:

It allows you to:

• Add a new page (1.) by clicking the New Page button.
• Delete a page (2.) by clicking on the delete icon.
• Modify the title of an existing page (3.), by editing the text box.
• Add a description (4.) to optimize your site ranking in search engines
• Then just click the save button (5.) to save your changes

2.9 Adding a new page

To add a new page to your website just click on the Manage Pages button and then on the New Page button.

It allows you to:

• Choose the title of your new page (1.).
• Choose if you want to start creating from a blank page (2.) by selecting blank page,
• A copy of an existing page (3.) by selecting Duplicate page,
• Or a standard page from template you have chosen (4.) by selecting standard page.
• Add a description (5.) to optimize your site ranking in search engines.
• Decide whether the page will appear in the menu on your site (6.) or not (see creating hidden pages).

2.10 Adding embedded videos from Youtube...

To add an embedded video player simply click on the Add Content icon:

Then click on Embedded video:

• Select the site from which you want to add your video (1.). You can add a video from YouTube, Dailymotion and Vimeo.
• Copy the permalink of the video you want on the selected streaming website and paste it in the window (2.).
• You can preview the video by clicking the Preview button (3.).
• Click on the Insert button (4.) to add the video to your site.

Once added to your website you can reposition, resize, and edit the video.

2.11 Adding a video from your computer

To upload a video simply click on the add content icon:

Then click on Video:

Click on Browse (1.) to upload a video from your computer or select a video already added to your gallery (2.).

Once added to your website you can reposition, resize, and edit the video.

2.12 Adding a Google Map

To add a Google Map simply click on the Add Content icon:

Then click on Google Maps:

Enter the address (1.).
Change the zoom level if you like (2.).
Enter the location information by editing the text box (3.).
Preview the map by clicking the Preview button (4.).
Click the Insert button (5.) to add the map to your site.

The map once added to your website is an element that you can reposition, resize, duplicate…

2.13 Adding a gadget

To add a gadget simply click on the Add Content icon:

Then click on Gadget:

• You can add a gadget from Widgetbox or Google Gadgets.
• Paste the code in the gadget window (1.).
• Click the Insert button (2.) to add the map to your site.

The gadget once you add to your website is an element that you can reposition, resize, duplicate

2.14 Adding a form

To add a contact form or a questionnaire to your website simply click on the Add Content icon:

Then click on Form:

You can add to your form various fields as one line (1.) or multiline (2.), radio buttons (3.), chechbox (4.) or a selector (5.)

Edit the text content (6.) of an existing field or delete it (7.).

Arrange the form elements very simply by clicking on the icon drag (8.)

Resize the text boxes according to your wishes (9.).

Click Insert (10.) to add the form to your site.

When your visitors fill out the form data will be sent to the email address provided during registration.

2.15 Adding a Flash animation

To add a Flash element click on the Add Content icon:

Then click on Flash Component:

Click on Browse (1.) to upload a Flash component from your computer or select a Flash element already added to your gallery (2.).

Once added to your website the Flash component is an element that you can reposition, resize, duplicate ...

2.16 Adding a geometric shape

To add a geometric shape click on the Add Content icon:

Then click on Geometric Shape:

You can choose to add a rectangle (1.), a circle / ellipse (2.), a straight line (3.)

The item appears on your page.

By clicking the pencil button (1.) you can change the properties of geometric shape.

Set the size (2.) and color r (3.) of the border, and the size of the flare (4.)

Choose the background color (5.)

Preview the result by clicking the Preview button (6.)

2.17 Editing Header or Footer

Place your mouse over the Header/Footer area and make a double-click to edit content.

You can add the same elements as in the main body of your site (text, images, Flash ...).

NB: If you want an element to appear on all of your pages you can add it from the Header or the Footer.

2.18 18 Changing site settings

To access the settings of your site click on the Settings button:

By clicking on the General tab you can:

Change the address of your site by editing the text box (1.).
Change the title of your site by editing the text box (2.).
Reset your site by clicking the Reset button (3.).

By clicking on the tab SEO you can:

Add a description of your site (1.).
Add keywords (2.).

By clicking on the Login tab you can:

Change your password (1.).
Change the email address of your account (2.).

2.19 Publishing your website

To publish your site just click the Publish icon located at the far right of the edit bar:

Click OK

A message confirms that your site has been published and gives his address.

Click on the link to go directly to your website.

1.4 How can I change my site’s URL?

Just click on Settings from Sitebay’s editor and modify your address under the tab General. Once that is done you click on Submit and republish your site.

1.5 Can I make changes after my site is published?

Of course!! You can always republish your site in order to take into account your new content.

1.6 How can I create hidden pages?

If you start from scratch, you only need to unclick the option “Create automatically an entry in the menu” when you create a new page.

If you have created a page that already appears on the menu and you wish to suppress it, you enter the menu’s editor and click on suppress in the corresponding page.

You can add an access to your hidden pages by creating a link from another page of your site.

1.7 Can I upload files?

You can upload different types of files onto your site.

To upload an image, you click on Add Image in Sitebay’s editor then on Browse and select the image to upload.

To upload other types of files such as videos, music or Flash elements, you click on Add Content in Sitebay’s editor and select the file you want to add.

1.8 How can I modify my logins?

Just login into Sitebay’s editor and click on Settings and edit your email adress and/or password under the tab Login.

1.9 How can I reset my site?

Just login into Sitebay’s editor and click on Parameters. Then click on Reset under the General tab. Your site and content will be erased. You can now choose a new design and start creating again.

1.10 How can I suppress my Sitebay website?

1.11 How can I suppress my Sitebay account?

Just click on Settings from Sitebay's editor and click on delete your sitebay account under the General Settings tab.
